V  We are a unified body of Catholic women who work side-by-side with the Knights of Columbus Councils of which we are affiliated.

V  Enjoy the challenges and satisfaction of making a difference.

V  You can do more for your church, family and your community as a COLUMBIETTE.

V  Discover activities that involve the entire family, thereby building spirit within.

V  Be a more effective Catholic by actively working toward goals of unity and understanding.

V  Set the example through works of charity, devotion and promotion of Catholic values.

V  Join others in programs that brighten the lives of the less fortunate, the sick, the handicapped, the elderly and the young.

V  Strengthen the community from within.

V  Have fun—make friends.

V  Join others in events that bear fruit.

V  Social activities are a necessary part of life.

“No man is an island.”

Such activities are enjoyable, make for long lasting friendships, and are most helpful in providing the financial where-with-all to support, materially, the programs and projects undertaken by the organization.

The HISTORY of the COLUMBIETTES

The Columbiettes are an international organization of Catholic women presently established in the United States and Canada.  This organization was founded in 1939, by Margaret Mary J. Mangan, who later became the first Supreme President; Past Faithful Navigator John Leo Coyle and past Grand Knight Charles P. Maruca under the inspiration of MSGR. J. Francis McIntyre, then Chaplain of New York Chapter Knights of Columbus, who later became J. Fracis Cardinal McIntyre of Los Angeles, and was established to form Catholic women’s auxiliaries to be affiliated with and support the Knights of Columbus.  To our founders, we dedicate ourselves to do God’s work on earth, promoting Unity, Christ’s Love for each of us, and zeal to serve God through Faith, Hope, and Charity.
