While we are normally a busy little parish, depending on what ministry you are involved with, this past weekend, March 11th and 12th, was particularly busy at St. Faustina. Besides all of the masses overflowing with worshipers, we had the monthly bake sale going on as well as the Palm Sunday Raffle ticket sales. Most importantly, however, (besides going to Mass to celebrate and receive Jesus in Holy Communion) we had a registration weekend in order to show Bishop Noonan that we do indeed have a need for a formal church building.
Last week’s Registration Weekend was very successful. However, if you missed the opportunity to register and be an “official” member of our parish, you can download the form at:
One of the issues, when it comes to building our new churches, is population of registered parishioners. As far as our numbers are concerned, we have about 620 “active” households (which includes our “snowbirds” who HAVE registered for the 1, 2, 3 or more months that they are in our neighborhood), and another 110 “inactive”, which brings us up to only 730 since our founding in 2006. What this means is that Diocesan officials are not quite sure that we have enough registered households to take the chance of building a new church in this location. Please, even if you are with us for even a short time, consider registering. Remember IT IS permissible to be registered at your home parish AND at St. Faustina.
PALM SUNDAY RAFFLE TICKETS will be available for sale the next 2 weekends (3/18, and 3/25).
1st prize is 25% of cash collected. 2nd prize is 15% & 3rd prize is 10%. Tickets cost $2 each or 3 for $5. Winners will be picked after the Noon Mass on Palm Sunday, 3/25. Need NOT be present to win. Proceeds benefit the Construction Fund.
As for the monthly bake sale, you will have to wait until the second full weekend of April to bake/buy/and enjoy.
The Easter Schedule, starting with our March 27th Penance Service, will be posted this week, as will the new schedules for the EM/Readers and Altar Servers. (in case you have not yet gotten it in your new set of envelopes, which were recently mailed out). Photos by Donna Cuttita
